    Magpie geese are unmistakable birds with their black and white plumage and yellowish legs.  The feet are only partially webbed, and the magpie goose feeds on vegetable matter in the water, as well as on land.  This image was taken in the Botanical Gardens in Bundaberg Queensland.  Hard to believe that such a large bird could balance so well on such a small branch.

    This beautiful bird is the only lorikeet with a completely green head and is quite common on the east coast of Australia.   The bottle brush was obviously full of nectar and the birds were having an absolute feast in a garden in Bundaberg.

    This baby Wombat was happily munching on its carrots and kumera at the Featherdale Wildlife Park in NSW.  Wombats are short-legged, muscular quadrupedal marsupials that are native to Australia. They are about 1 metre (40 inches) in length with small, stubby tails.
